On 10 September 2026, Banga Assam H.E. & Associates took part in an interactive session convened by ASAFO & CO. in Paris, dedicated to strengthening working relationships between international and local law firms. The session also brought together practitioners from Zangue & Partners and MBAH & Co., alongside the participation of the President of the Cameroonian Bar Association.

Structured as a 1.5-hour working discussion, the session moved beyond general commitments to collaboration and toward a shared, practical framework for how international and local counsel engage one another on cross-border and domestic mandates. Banga Assam H.E. & Associates contributed to discussions on the categories of mandates that most frequently bring international and local firms together, and on how evolving client expectations are reshaping the terms of that collaboration.

A central portion of the discussion was devoted to surfacing the respective expectations of each side of the relationship what local firms look for when an international firm refers or works alongside them on a matter, and conversely, what international counsel seek in a local relationship, including where friction points and gaps in expectations tend to arise. Drawing on its own experience navigating this interface, Banga Assam H.E. & Associates engaged actively in the resulting conversation on best practices for effective collaboration, spanning the early scoping of roles and responsibilities at the outset of a mandate, fee and budget arrangements, communication and responsiveness standards, quality and delivery coordination, client-facing interface management, and the joint presentation of a unified team to clients.

The session further addressed the longer-term architecture of these relationships how firms sustain engagement between active mandates, how referral opportunities can be better identified and shared in both directions, and what concrete initiatives might deepen ties between international and local practices over time.

Banga Assam H.E. & Associates' participation in this exchange reflects its ongoing engagement with the broader Cameroonian legal community, including its relationship with the Cameroonian Bar, on questions central to the profession's development.

The firm's presence at this session underscores its continued commitment to building durable, well-structured relationships with international counsel operating across the continent.
